Stephanie Ruiz serves as president of Media Department II – a successful media buying and marketing company in South Florida – where for the past 26 years she has provided unparalleled leadership in developing media plans and events that drive results for her clients.
Stephanie’s insights into media relations and the market as a whole, as well as her professional business relationships, have helped her to deliver far in excess of her clients’ expectations. She is a trained media planner, buyer and marketer of traditional and non-traditional media. Given her longevity in the business community, Stephanie also delivers beneficial relationships and ideas that reach way beyond the media industry.
Stephanie’s specialized industry marketing experience – where she boasts long-term association with clients – includes thoroughbred racing, casinos, medical, retail, event marketing and government relations.
Stephanie joined the agency in 1986 after graduating from the University of Florida, where she majored in advertising and minored in marketing. Her drive and strong work ethic helped the agency to triple its billings and earned her a promotion to Vice President of the agency at a young age. In 1991, Stephanie and a partner bought the company, and, in 2006 she became sole proprietor of the firm.
In addition to the success of Media Department II, Stephanie is also the co-founder of Reputation Protection Group, a web based company focused on online reputation management for businesses and individuals (www.ReputationProtectionGroup.com).
Over the years, Stephanie has been involved in various business and professional organizations such as AWRT (American Women in Radio & Television), NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners) and the Aventura Marketing Council. She currently holds an executive board position with the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce and serves as the Vice Chair of the Chamber. She has held numerous leadership positions within the Chamber and was awarded the James McDonnell Outstanding Board of Governor Award (2013). Stephanie is also a member of the Miami Beach Convention Center’s Advisory Board.
In addition to leading Media Department II as well as her other professional endeavors, Stephanie is a wife, mother of two and PTA mom – and never misses a Sunday game of tennis.
